i enjoy sports simulators because of the number crunching and complexity. So I will not focus at all here on graphics and UI/UX.
my dissappointment is related to the game engine. I downloaded the trial version last week very much hoping to purchase it after a quick test. So I proceeded to do the full draft. My plan was to get a strong offensive line year 1 and then, expecting a 3 or 4 win season, use the high draft picks in the next seasons to geta franchise quarterback and shore up the defense.
my goal was to compete in 3-4 years. Bottom line is I drafted the top 2 TEs in the game (gronk and graham), a decent WR (Sammy Watkins) and Johnny manziel as QB. and a mediocre defense. I didn’t design any schemes and focused on drafting high potential rookies or 2nd year players.
then I just simulated the entire season and guess what – I won the Super Bowl. In a league with Aaron Rodgers, Brady and manning I won the Super Bowl with manziel in his rookie year! And then next season I won again simply by resigning my free agents and adding some low level rookies.
that kind of an outcome is simply not possible in real life and shows how broken the simulation engine is.
