Today we are more than excited to announce the official partnership of the NBHL using the status quo standard for hockey realism in Eastside Hockey Manager. They will be joining our showpiece Baseball Simulation league the MLB Pro run by the passionate Andrew Sowders, using the Out of the Park Baseball engine.

As explained by Dano Jones – its most loyal and dedicated Commissioner, “the NBHL was formed out of necessity back in early 2010 by Dano, Drew, Jason and Jeff. Leagues other than the DMA were failing and the EHM 2005 community was looking for a 2nd league that was a little different. So the NBHL was born. At first it was just about losing all the arguing and crap that was coming into the leagues (The No Bullshit League). The league’s main mission was to try to get rid of that part of the game and yet keep the live sims going without it.

Let me say the DMA is a great league and in no way do we try to compete with them. They are a different type of league then we are. There are many crossover GM’s in both leagues and we do everything we can, as do they, to keep a balance between the two of us.

Anyways, back to the NBHL. After a few seasons and some unfortunately immature GM’s the NBHL files were deleted and the league was in turmoil. Jason, the current commissioner was understandably upset and decided to step down. The league had no game file and no leader. Thanks to some quick acting GM’s a new file was created and the NBHL was about to be reborn, but it was still missing a leader. After giving it much thought I stepped up to take over the leadership role in the NBHL and the league was off and running again.

For me as commissioner this is a passion. I love the group of GM’s we have and I am proud of the league and community we have created here in the NBHL. My goal is to keep this league alive no matter what.”

Do you remember to time when you first pressed simulate on your console video game and thought you just had to do it again to see what would happen next? GM Games has come a long way since 2011 and is always ready for more bloggers, writers or commissioners to bring content about the thing we care about most, a sports virtual reality.

All we ask is that you join our forums (forums.gmgames.org) and help participate in the leagues and great community of people we have here already. We have the enthusiasm of many large-scale and indie game developers that want their games covered and reviewed in an impartial manner. They too share the dream we all share, to be the person who calls the shots.

For those who want to do more for this genre or have media opportunities, please contact Chris Valius at [email protected]

Best of Luck..! If you really believe you don’t control your fate.

My name is Chris and I am the Content Facilitator and Founder of General Manager (GM) Games. I have been following sports simulator algorithms from my childhood. It initially started out by pressing simulate on 'Baseball Simulator 1.000' and having excessive rental fees on games like 'Baseball Stars' on NES. It evolved in to playing countless seasons of Tecmo Super Bowl without even playing a snap. Wayne Gretzky Hockey on PC/Mac allowed for the first 2D game-play to be watched in conjunction with being a GM. As time progressed, Baseball Mogul, and the original OOTP grew and the CM series of Soccer games took everything to the next level. With that in mind, it has been my mission statement to find those with the same passion for this genre. To share their incredible intelligent accomplishments. To those making these algorithms for the pleasure of our amusement. I want to help every indie development. Let's bring the immersion and realism of these games to the next level.
