BBallGo relies on a basketball simulation developed using a combination of advanced basketball statistics and machine learning techniques to produce extremely realistic results. The simulation and ratings were tuned in several ways, primarily (but not limited to):

• Aligning the "Random Plus Minus" for each player to their expected real-life impact (derived from advanced statistics). Random Plus Minus is a simple plus-minus calculated across thousands of seasons with randomized rosters.
• Aligning the regression coefficients between RPM & box score statistics in the simulation with the Box Plus Minus regression coefficients.

Players will improve or decline each season as they embark on varying development paths that mimic historical pro basketball trends.

As in real-life basketball, player value depends on the player's fit with the surrounding team. Overall ratings should be considered a benchmark rather than an exact determination of player value. These ratings include the impact of box score stats as well as player impact that doesn't show up in a box score.
