I’ve played this game for over 20 years and have commissioned a unique league using their platform. With a major update, they took away the base concept our league was founded on, “No Scouting” — essentially that you may have an idea of a players build and can see development but you will have to play them for a while before knowing exactly their “level of skill” is. In our league, statistics were king until the major update. It was incredibly fun, and the most entertaining and challenging league in the sites existence.
While they have added “fog” to the main game, they ignored the impacts that changes to scouting would have on our unique league. Thus, instantly with the update — all of our players instantly became “Scouted” with the update. Immediately users knew without a shadow of a doubt the skill level of all experienced players in the league and with that knowledge it became very easy to cut and sign experienced players as you would know their true ratings.
We have begged for an update to the scouting that would allow us to view all the players without “scouting”, and the CEO was on board to help our unique league — but it’s been months and there is still no sign that they will do anything to bring the old setting back. Until they can bring this setting back I have to give this game a 1 star, with the potential of becoming a 10 star if they bring the setting back.
I love this game with all my heart, so a 1 star review is not an easy decision. It is very frustrating to put so much time and energy into a Fantasy baseball league only to have an update that takes away the major thing that made our league fun and unique. I hope that they will address this and put “No Scouting” back into the game as a setting.
