Red Zone Action is a slow real-time American football sim where you play in 2 tables per 3 month season: League, with a 32-team format similar to the NFL, and Supercup, with groups of 16 followed by an elimination bracket. You can also play in friendly matches and tourneys with other teams.
You are able to manage the roster, depth charts and playbook with as much or as little detail as you like. Players grow in skill as they age and eventually retire, to be replaced with new faces from the youth academy, transfer market or the draft.
I recommend the game because of its easiness to learn (there are tutorials, FAQs and lots of friendly veterans eager to help out) and the wide range of choices to be made as manager. I have been playing for 20 seasons (nearly 5 years) and it’s still a bit of fun that I look forward to every day.
